How we achieve our targets so far

We meet digitally

About 25% of our trips are made for internal meetings. We have therefore adapted the Serviceplan guidelines and hold all future internal meetings across our locations using video conferencing.

The same applies to all external meetings with suppliers and service providers or initial applicant interviews.

We also hold client meetings via video whenever possible.

We travel by train

Short flight routes within a radius of 400 kilometers, such as the connections Munich - Frankfurt - Munich and Vienna - Munich - Vienna, can no longer be booked in our travel tool. Instead, we switch to train connections. For example, in 2021, we traveled 795,424 person-kilometers with the DB.

We drive hybrid or electric vehicles

In order to avoid C02 emissions from our vehicle fleet, we are currently in the process of switching completely to electric and hybrid vehicles.

Our way
Carbon neutrality

Up to now, all our German sites have been powered by renewable energies and operate on a climate-neutral basis. We are continuously working to adapt this at all sites worldwide.

Sustainable action does not just consist of individual actions. We therefore question the processes in the agency group and our actions holistically and develop sustainable alternatives step by step. We compensate for the remaining emissions by supporting internationally recognized climate protection projects, which are certified through highly monitored and prestigious standards, such as Gold Standard projects and the United Nations Clean Development Mechanism.

As part of our commitment to continuous improvement and to be a role model for sustainable business development, we are currently in the process of implementing our new Environmental Management Operating System, which will provide us with tools to better manage and track our data, increased transparency with reporting, and a more streamlined process for reduction strategies.

Only by knowing our carbon footprint can we identify reduction potential and opportunities, define climate protection targets and implement appropriate measures to achieve them. Future plans of our Sustainability Management team include introducing the environmental standard ISO 14001, and committing to reduction targets set by SBTi.

We also organize regular internal events to continue increasing the knowledge and the attention to the topic of sustainability for our employees and customers.

Communication

How we achieve our targets so far

The Sustainability Report creates Transparency

We have published our first sustainability report for our 2022 Financial year. For this report we followed the GRI Reporting guidelines. All important information on the status of our sustainability measures and standings, as well as detailed emission values and future optimization fields are published here.

In accordance with the CSRD we will publish our future reports according to ESRS Standards.

A closer look at our emissions: GHG Protocol report

In our GHG Report, the greenhouse gas emissions caused by Serviceplan during the course of the fiscal year 2021/22 are listed. It provides insights into the organization's carbon footprint of Scope 1, 2 and 3. The report was conducted in collaboration with Footprint Intelligence, a company specializing in environmental data analysis and sustainability reporting, to ensure accuracy and transparency in the assessment process.

Our employees can inform themselves directly

For several years now, we have been offering our employees campus events, training courses and our own platforms with tips on how to save CO2 in order to support them on their way to a more sustainable work and lifestyle.

In the future, we would also like to promote the topic of sustainability across all departments, which is why we would like to further expand our training and education offerings in this area.

Our annual events are carbon neutral

We offset emissions caused by events by supporting climate protection projects and thus contribute to achieving UN sustainability goals and global climate protection targets.

"We bear responsibility not only for our clients and our colleagues. We want to and must contribute to preserving our world for future generations. Our commitment to climate protection does not yet go far enough for us. We are learning more every day and want to achieve more and more - in the spirit of a healthy environment and a sustainable economy. As an innovative, international group of agencies, we can and will achieve a lot."

Fokus Zukunft Climate

Fokus Zukunft is one of our most important partners. Not only do they support us with our sustainability report, but also help us compensate our CO2 emissions and help us to reduce them.

UN Global compact

Since June 2022, we have had the honor of joining the over 20 thousand companies to commit to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). This demonstrates our dedication to upholding the 10 UN Sustainable Development Goals associated with participation and our contribution to the global fight for a brighter, more sustainable future.

Measures

Free rental bikes are available to all colleagues at the locations. Our company cars can also be used privately, which can make owning a car unnecessary. There is also an allowance for public transport tickets under certain conditions.

We only order office supplies in consolidated orders to avoid unnecessary transport routes. Our printers are also filled with recycled paper and purchased according to ecological criteria.

Our entire power supply is based on green electricity and we carefully separate our waste.

Only Fairtrade coffee and tea from sustainable cultivation are used in all coffee kitchens.

In the cafeterias we do without plastic dishes and cutlery and increasingly offer regional organic products.

Biodegradable cleaning products are used in the restrooms, including toilet paper and TORK paper towels with the ECO label, which are completely recycled and reprocessed in other forms.

Our Sustainability Report creates Transparency.

As part of our commitment to upholding the 3 pillars of sustainable development, we are also increasing our corporate transparency. We have linked our Financial Report as well as our codes of conduct (supplier code of conduct and internal code of conduct) to our sustainability report.
